10Micron GM1000 HPS EP

10Micron GM1000 HPS EP is a German equatorial GoTo mount rated for 30 kg of instrumentation. The mount weighs 19.5 kg without accessories and uses absolute encoders mounted directly on the axes, brushless servo motors and a precision worm drive.

Drive and mechanical construction

The published slew range is 2–15°/s. Its mechanical system uses 30 mm stainless-steel counterweight-shaft hardware, preloaded bearings and timing-belt reduction with automatic backlash recovery.

Pointing and tracking

The internal pointing model supports up to 100 alignment points and compensation for polar alignment, orthogonality, atmospheric refraction and system flexure. Manufacturer tracking examples refer to a modelled system; telescope rigidity, model quality and observing conditions still affect results.

Control and power

A heated, dimmable keypad provides standalone operation. Ethernet, Wi-Fi/web control and RS-232 support remote workflows, with separate GPS and ST-4 interfaces. The mount uses 24 V DC; power-supply and receiver connections must match the control-box generation.

Configuration and equipment

The native equatorial layout is intended for imaging and observing within the published latitude and meridian limits. Counterweights are sold separately. The technical table lists the standard package and separates operating temperature from storage limits.

Compatibility notes

The EP is the 30 kg Enhanced Performance version, not the original 25 kg GM1000. The shaft extension is listed by the manufacturer as necessary at maximum payload. Accuracy figures are conditional manufacturer examples, not guarantees for every telescope.
