Object selection and display
Its catalogue contains more than 42,000 objects, including Messier, NGC, IC, SAO and Caldwell entries, named stars, double/variable stars and planets. The two-line 18-character display has adjustable contrast and backlighting, with a backlit rubber keypad.
Connections
The mount port connects to the mount’s Hand Control socket and can supply power to the controller. V5 supports USB or RS-232C computer connection; the multi-purpose port is used for supported external devices such as the optional GPS module.
Mount-dependent features
Sidereal, solar and lunar tracking are documented. PEC availability and the actual pointing/tracking performance depend on the connected mount and its alignment; handset database size is not a mechanical accuracy guarantee.
V5 manufacturer manual used. Supported mount electronics and the appropriate connection cable are required; no assumption that every vintage HEQ5/EQ6 port or cable is interchangeable.
