The S30 uses a Sony IMX662 telephoto sensor recording 1080 × 1920 pixels vertically. Its wide camera records 1920 × 1080 horizontally. The listed telephoto and wide fields are 2.46° and 23.2°.
Built-in UV/IR-cut, dual-band OIII 30 nm / H-alpha 20 nm and dark filters support different capture tasks. JPG/FITS still images and MP4/AVI video are listed. Solar use requires the correctly installed external magnetic solar filter; never observe the Sun through an unfiltered optical path.
