The Evostar 150ED DX is the Deluxe version of the original 150 mm f/8 ED doublet. Its two-element air-spaced objective has a 1200 mm focal length and MHTC coatings for visual and photographic astronomy.
The DX package adds a 3.4-inch Helinear rack-and-pinion focuser with dual-speed adjustment, together with tube rings and a D-style dovetail. This is the larger-focuser configuration and must not be confused with the original standard ED or newer EDX.
The Black Diamond aluminium tube is internally baffled to control stray light. A foam-lined aluminium case is supplied. A matching corrector is optional; camera spacing must follow that corrector’s instructions rather than the specifications of the newer EDX model.
