This is the legacy geared FocusCube v2 configuration for Celestron C14. It contains its own motor controller and stepper motor, communicating directly with a computer over USB 2.0 Type-B. It is distinct from the newer FocusCube Zero.
The manufacturer’s v2 manual documents a 7.5-degree stepper with 1:120 gearing, 5755 full steps per motor-output revolution and 11510 firmware half steps. The SCT installation uses a shaped aluminium bracket, pulleys and a timing belt; the appropriate pulley and screws are selected for the telescope.
Use a 12–13.8 V DC supply capable of at least 1 A through the 2.1 mm centre-positive input. A 0.6 m RJ45 temperature probe is documented, with ±0.5 °C accuracy from −10 to +85 °C. The RJ45 socket accepts the sensor or optional hand controller: it must never be connected to an external motor-controller output.
The manual provides ASCOM, INDI and standalone software support. It specifies a 56 × 63 × 39 mm enclosure and 300 g weight. The controller is not waterproof and should be kept dry.
