The QHY9701 is a cooled monochrome scientific camera using the back-illuminated GSENSE9701 sensor. Its 9.76 µm pixels and 12.493 × 9.994 mm sensor area support low-light scientific applications including microscopy and biofluorescence.
The effective image area is 1280 × 1024 pixels; the larger 1344 × 1054 readable array is listed separately. The sensor uses an electronic rolling shutter. QHY lists up to 21 fps in Low Noise mode and 89% peak quantum efficiency at 610 nm.
QHY reproduces sensor-supplier values of 48 ke full well, 1.6-electron read noise in HDR and 0.85-electron read noise in Low Noise mode. The published dynamic range is 89.5 dB in HDR. The dark-current figures are 40 electrons/pixel/s at 31 °C and 0.08 electrons/pixel/s at −28 °C. These are explicitly sensor-level specifications, not independently measured performance for the complete camera.
The manufacturer’s setup instructions specify external 12 V power before USB 3.0, with input kept between 11.5 and 13 V. Install QHY’s All-in-One driver/SDK; its general scientific-use guide recommends 64-bit SharpCap. Select capture mode and exposure for the intended measurement.
