QHY268M PH

The QHY268M PH is a cooled monochrome astronomy camera using SONY IMX571. The APS-C IMX571 sensor provides 26-megapixel capture, with separate photographic, high-gain and extended-full-well readout modes. QHY lists 51 ke standard full well and 80 ke in extended-full-well mode. The current short-front version uses 14.5 mm backfocus; older 17.5 mm plus CAA assemblies are a different mechanical configuration.

Sensor readout and image transfer

QHY’s published ADC specification is Native 16-bit (0-65535 greyscale) A/D. A 1GB DDR3 Memory Buffer image buffer supports downloads through USB3.0. Monochrome capture supports separate luminance, RGB and narrowband filter exposures. Full-frame and region-of-interest rates depend on readout mode and output format; the table below preserves those conditions.

Cooling and dew control

Manufacturer cooling specification: Dual Stage TEC cooler:; – Long exposures (> 1 second) typically -35℃ below ambient; – Short exposure (< 1second) high FPS, typically -30℃ below ambient(Test temperature +20℃). Cooling reduces thermal signal during long exposures, and performance depends on ambient conditions and capture rate. The camera has a protective-window heater and an internal humidity sensor.

Optical connections

The listed interface is Support M54 or M48 (Combined with adapters ), with backfocus of 14.5mm(±0.2). Add the optical contribution of the selected adapters, filter wheel and guider when planning the telescope connection.

Power and software

Use an external 12 V supply before connecting the USB data cable. QHY’s operating guide specifies 11–13.8 V at the camera; cable voltage drop must be included in the power budget. Manufacturer power-supply guidance: regulated 12 V supply capable of at least 4 A; original supplied adapter preferred Install the matching QHY All-in-One driver/SDK and compatible capture software.

Compatibility notes

Use the named-model manufacturer connection diagram and the backfocus reference for the selected adapter. Readout mode and output format affect frame rate, noise and full-well capacity.
