The ASI715MC is an uncooled colour astronomy camera built around the Sony IMX715. Its 5.602 × 3.178 mm sensor records 3864 × 2192 pixels with 1.45 µm sampling.
The manufacturer specifies a 12-bit ADC, 6,030-electron full well, 80% peak quantum efficiency and read noise of 0.72–2.1 electrons. Capture speed is 45.1 fps at 10-bit high-speed mode. Smaller regions of interest can increase frame rate; speed depends on ADC mode, output format, exposure and connection.
One-shot colour capture records colour during a single imaging sequence. High-speed video allows short exposures and frame selection for lunar and planetary imaging.
The USB connection supplies power and transfers images. The camera uses a M42 × 0.75 interface, with 12.5 mm sensor spacing. Its AR-coated protective window protects the sensor. The body is 62 mm in diameter and weighs 126 g. Match optical adapters and any external filter to the required telescope spacing.
