ZWO ASI2600MC DUO

The ASI2600MC DUO combines a colour Sony IMX571 imaging sensor and a separate monochrome SC2210_BW guide sensor in one housing. Imaging and guiding share the telescope optics, reducing the need for a separate guide camera.

Imaging and guiding

The main sensor records 6248 × 4176 pixels at 3.76 µm with a 16-bit ADC. Its full well is 50 ke standard; 73 ke at gain −25. The guide sensor records 1920 × 1080 pixels at 4 µm, with 8780-electron full well and peak QE of 92% at 500 nm. One-shot colour operation records colour without separate RGB exposures.

Cooling and optical window

Two-stage TEC cooling provides 30–35 °C below ambient in ZWO’s 30 °C test conditions. A software-controlled 5 W heater helps protect the uv/ir-cut window from dew. Cooling performance varies with ambient temperature and operating conditions.

Control and connections

A USB 3.0 connection and 512 MB DDR3 buffer support imaging downloads. The main sensor reaches 15 fps at full resolution in RAW8; output bit depth and connection affect actual frame rate. Both sensors use rolling shutters.

Power and spacing

Use 12 V DC, 3–5 A recommended with a 5.5 × 2.1 mm centre-positive connector and the specified 11–14 V battery range. The M54 × 0.75 interface provides 17.5 mm standard assembly. Include all adapters and filters when calculating telescope spacing.
