The Askar FRA300 PRO is a 60 mm aperture, 300 mm focal-length astrograph operating at f/5. Its five-element, fully air-spaced Petzval design contains one ED element and covers a 44 mm full-frame image circle.
Field correction is built into the optical system. At native focal length, achieve focus within the available connection range rather than adding a separate flattener and setting a fixed 55 mm spacing. The manufacturer lists 67 mm maximum connection from the M48×0.75 thread base and 71 mm from the M42×0.75 reference, with the focuser retracted.
The 2.5-inch rack-and-pinion focuser has coarse and fine adjustment, plus a 360° rotator. The standard rear connection is M48×0.75, with separate M42×0.75 and M54×0.75 adapters listed in the package. CNC-machined construction and fully multicoated optics complete the design.
A multifunction handle and 300 mm Vixen-style dovetail provide mounting and balance adjustment. Askar lists a 303 mm total length, 2.26 kg bare OTA and 3.12 kg including mounting hardware. The M54 connection-limit reference has inconsistent pitch wording on the manufacturer page; use the supplied adapter drawing when arranging that connection.
Askar manufacturer documentation
The manufacturer lists an M54×0.75 supplied adapter but labels the M54 distance reference M54×1 in the connection table. No uncertain M54 pitch is asserted for that 71 mm reference; M42/M48 references are unambiguous.
