William Optics Pleiades 68 Astrograph OTA — 68 mm seven-element astrograph
The Pleiades 68 has a 260 mm focal length at f/3.8. William Optics specifies a 48 mm image circle.
Optics and imaging
Its seven-element astrograph design needs no separate field flattener.
Focusing and adapters
WIFD rack-and-pinion focusing provides 45 mm travel. Connections: Tilt adjuster; rotator; M63 to M54 and M63 to M48 adapters. The camera adapter provides backfocus adjustment; set the imaging train according to the manual.
Dimensions and handling
Tube length is 366–410 mm; OTA weight is 2.98 kg. Manufacturer total weight is 3.83 kg.
The seven-element optical system includes three Super ED elements and provides field correction within the telescope. Rear tilt adjustment and camera rotation help align and frame the imaging sensor. The manufacturer lists a dual-sided Vixen / Arca-Swiss mounting plate.
Compatibility notes
Unlike a generic Petzval focus-range assumption, Pleiades spacing must follow the model-specific manual. Do not assume compatibility from sensor diagonal alone.
