200PDS Black Diamond — 200/1000 dual-speed Newtonian

The 200PDS Black Diamond is a 200 mm parabolic Newtonian with 1000 mm focal length and f/5 focal ratio. It combines visual observing with prime-focus imaging capability.

Imaging and fine focus

The PDS design uses a shortened tube and secondary-mirror positioning intended to provide imaging focus. Its 2-inch dual-speed Crayford focuser gives 10:1 fine adjustment. A correctly matched Sky-Watcher coma corrector is optional for improving star shapes away from the optical axis.

Tube and equipment

The manufacturer lists a 8×50 finder and 2-inch LET 28 mm eyepiece. The tube measures 240 mm in diameter by 920 mm long and has a published OTA weight of 8.75 kg. Select the mount for the complete imaging load and tube size.

Optical setup

As a Newtonian reflector, the telescope requires correct primary and secondary alignment. Fit the camera and any coma corrector using the correct adapter and spacing for that accessory.
