The ASI585MC is an uncooled colour astronomy camera built around the Sony IMX585. Its 11.2 × 6.3 mm sensor records 3840 × 2160 pixels with 2.9 µm sampling.
The manufacturer specifies a 12-bit ADC, 40,000-electron full well, 91% peak quantum efficiency and read noise of As low as 0.7 electrons. Capture speed is 46.9 fps advertised maximum. Smaller regions of interest can increase frame rate; speed depends on ADC mode, output format, exposure and connection.
One-shot colour capture records colour during a single imaging sequence. High-speed video allows short exposures and frame selection for lunar and planetary imaging.
The USB connection supplies power and transfers images. The camera uses a M42 × 0.75 interface, with 6.5 mm bare; 17.5 mm with 11 mm ring sensor spacing. Its 32 × 2 mm AR-coated window protects the sensor. The body is 62 mm in diameter and weighs 126 g. Match optical adapters and any external filter to the required telescope spacing.
