The original Askar FMA180 combines a 40 mm dual-ED triplet objective with a three-element reducer for a six-element photographic configuration. With the reducer it operates at 180 mm and f/4.5; the objective alone is 220 mm and f/5.5.
The manufacturer describes separate extension-tube arrangements for reduced photography, unreduced photography and 1.25-inch visual use. The photographic interface is M42×0.75. Use the illustrated tube configuration for the chosen mode rather than treating the FMA180 as the later PRO model.
In the recommended reduced photographic configuration, camera backfocus is 55 mm. Removing the designated extension changes that allowance to 83 mm. The included ring/finder-bracket assembly can also be used on a main telescope, and its detachable plate is Arca-Swiss compatible for tripod attachment.
Askar specifies 145 mm length in photographic mode and 395 g total weight in the published table. The standard package includes the six-element lens body, rings, finder bracket, extension tubes, 1.25-inch adapter, Allen key and manual. Its combination of focal lengths and mounting modes supports imaging, observing and guiding.
