The Askar 65PHQ combines a 65 mm aperture with 416 mm focal length at f/6.4. Its air-spaced quintuplet optical system contains two ED elements and incorporates field correction for a 44 mm image circle.
At native focal length the optical system does not need an additional field flattener or a single prescribed flattener-to-sensor spacing. Connect the camera within the published accessory-connection limit and bring the target into focus. The connection allowance changes with the chosen rear adapter. Visual use is also supported with a suitable diagonal and eyepiece.
A 2.5-inch rack-and-pinion focuser provides coarse adjustment and 1:10 fine focusing. The graduated 360° rotator lets you frame the target without turning the complete telescope. Threaded photographic adapters provide the interfaces listed below, including an internal M48×0.75 filter thread.
The telescope has a retractable dew shield, tube rings, a multifunction handle and a 300 mm Vixen-style dovetail plate. The technical table separates bare-OTA weight from weight with mounting hardware. A matching 0.75× reducer is optional and has its own connection and spacing requirements; it is not part of the standard native optical system.
