The Wave counterweight kit adds the manufacturer’s stainless-steel 11 lb counterweight, shaft and extension shaft to a compatible Wave mount.
A counterweight helps balance a heavier telescope arrangement within the mount’s specified operating limits. Sky-Watcher quotes separate Wave payload ratings with and without this optional kit; those values do not remove the need for a stable tripod or correct equipment positioning.
